EMDR Europe training in Ukraine with the WHO
Great collaboration between EMDR Europe, the WHO office in Ukraine, and EMDR Ukraine to teach EMDR therapy to 50 Ukrainians psychologists and psychiatrists.
Beginning of 2024, EMDR Europe was approached by the WHO (World Health Organization) office in Ukraine in conjunction with MHPSS (Mental Health Psycho-Social Support) to organize an EMDR training in Ukraine, as training in EMDR therapy was highly demanded by mental health professionals of the country. EMDR Europe was very happy to collaborate with the WHO office in Ukraine in close relationship with the National Association EMDR Ukraine. The EMDR Europe accredited standard training took place on 6-9 August 2024 and 28-31 January 2025 in Lviv.
50 Ukrainians psychologists and psychiatrists from all over the country gathered to Lviv to learn EMDR therapy with Eva Zimmermann, EMDR Europe accredited trainer, and a team of facilitators from Ukraine.
There was a great working atmosphere with the participants in a country that will need support in trauma therapy and mental health education fo many years.
